Conger Eel

The Conger eel, also known as the European conger, is a type of marine eel found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has a long, thin, snake-like body that can grow up to 3 meters long and weigh as much as 70 kilograms. Its body color ranges from dark brown to gray, and it has smooth skin covered with a slimy layer that helps it swim easily.

Conger eels are carnivores, feeding on fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. They are active at night and usually hide in crevices or under rocks during the day, coming out to hunt when it's dark. In some parts of the world, conger eels are popular as food fish, but they are also sometimes kept as pets in aquariums.
