Silver Croaker

Silver Croaker is a type of croaker fish found in South America, the Indian Ocean, and various breeding grounds. They prefer slightly salty water and thrive during the rainy season.

The Silver Croaker (Johnius argentatus), also known as the White Croaker or White Umbrina, belongs to the Sciaenidae family. This saltwater fish is widely found in the Indo-West Pacific region, from the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf to the Bay of Bengal, the South China Sea, and the northern coast of Australia.

The Silver Croaker has a long, slightly flattened body with a silvery-white color and a shiny appearance, which is how it got its name. It can grow up to 40 cm long and weigh 1.5 kg, but the average size is around 20-25 cm. Its body is covered in small, smooth scales, and it has a noticeable mouth with several small teeth. The dorsal fin has 10 spines and 23-25 soft rays, while the anal fin has two spines and 6-8 soft rays.
